Does anyone use a nylon mesh steeping bag for pellet hops, or is it better to just dump them right in the wort?

ive done it both ways. It wont hurt you either way although some will aurgue that your utilization of the hops goes down with a bad. The hops bags are meant more for whole hops but people use them for both. If im just using pellets i dump them straight in the boil w/o a bag.

bag. easier to clean up.

Also, go to the hardware store and get paint strainer bags. Two bags for $3 beats one bag for $5 from a LHBS.

I've done both and prefer the bag since it's easier to clean up and it helps keep all that trub out of the primary. I do poke, prod, and squeeze the bag frequently throughout the boil though. To make sure i'm getting all the hop goodness into the wort.
