I plan on giving a go at my first high alcohol brew, a imperial stout. I have a (I believe) 7 gal plastic tub fermenter. I normally just use a bubble lock. I am concerned with the activity involved with this stout that will be about 10%. What can I buy or use with my fermenter to allow a blow off tube?

If it's a standard grommet on the bucket a 3/8in rubber tube fits perfectly and allows for blow-off.

You don't have to use grommets and an airlock on an empty gallon jug like I did. I do this to capture beer if I lose a bunch, and then it can be poured back into the fermentor. If you prefer you can just fill the gallon with starsan solution and stick the blowoff tube down into it..

Cool so get rid of the airlock totally and run a line to a star san solution, easy enough, thanks
