Sampled my first brew of Red Ale Today.

Brewed on 12-31-05 racked to secondary for 10 days and bottled last
saturday.

I wasn't so much impatient, but wanted to see the difference along
the way.

I put my first and last bottle filled in a Corona bottle so I could see what's
going on. Very little sediment.

When I opened the bottle I got a little carbonation sign.

The beer is great, as good as Killians..

If it improves with age as much as you guys say, My first batch was a
great success.

Just gotta get those bottles coming in.

Thanks to everone for your help!

Wow Larry! I'm in the exact same boat as you. I brewed my very first batch on 12-30-05 (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone). Bottled it last Saturday and am doing the same as you....testing along the way to see how things are going. I opened my first bottle today and heard the nice "spfffff". Ahhh...carbonation! After the pour I had a NICE head on it and took my first sip. Even some very nice "belgian lace" left on the glass after a few sips. Still has a bit of the "dirty hop" taste to it but I'm definitely figuring that will mellow out a bit as the weeks go by. I plan on having another bottle of it next weekend after it sits in the garage for a week. I may wait another few weeks for another one after that before I share it with my neighbor....just in case...lol.

Geez, Jazz, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure it's lots better than that!

Casebrew, You were right. "As good as Killians" was an understatement.

Had another last night. Nice head, great clarity, great taste.

Attending a Home Brew Seminar this weekend. Hopefully will learn a
lot about different flavorings and aroma's.

I will also decide on a recipe for Brew #3

Need to get my taste buds educated to understand the different styles
of beer you discuss.
