This Saturday (09/28/2012) in Reno, the Nevada Craft Brewers Association is having a brew-fest.

It is at Wingfield Park from 3:00pm-7:00pm and costs $25 in advance/$30 at the door.

There will also be bands and food trucks.

The Inaugural Nevada Craft Brewers Festival will feature beer brewed in the Silver State by association brewery members including:

Barleys Brewery, Big Dog’s Brewing Company, BJ’s Brewhouse, Boulder Dam Brewing, Brasserie Saint James, Brew Brothers, Chicago Brewing Company, Ellis Island Brewery, Gordon Biersch Brewery, Great Basin Brewing Company, High Sierra Brewing Company, Joseph James Brewing Company, Pints Brewery, Ruby Mountain Brewing Company, Silver Peak Brewery, Sin City Brewing Company, Tenaya Creek Brewery, The Brewer’s Cabinet, Triple 7 Brewery, and White Pine Brewing Company.

I don't have the info in front of me, but in less than 1 week there will be a homebrew contest at High Sierra Brewery in Carson City. Just Brew It has the info, so call them if interested. I believe the entry fee is $8.00 per beer, with a maximum of 4 entries
 
I attended this contest and won the APA category with my Wedding Pale Ale(recipe posted here). The place was packed, waiting for results. Many thanks to Just Brew It and Battleborn wines for sponsoring this. Both owners are friendly, helpful, honest, and hard working.
 
I agree, it was a fabulous event. Let us not forget to thank High Sierra Brewery for hosting the event, as well.
