The wife and I will be in Vegas in early May. She's been before, but I haven't. She wants me to see all the sights, I want to know where I can sit down for a couple hours and drink some damn fine beer.

Any recommendations?

I could probably arrange a meet-up one evening while we're in town too if anyone is interested.

Main street station in Old Vegas had a brew pub when I was out there a couple of years ago. Where's Talley when you need him????

Ya no kidding. I was hoping he'd chime in. If he doesn't maybe I'll shoot him a PM.

The Monte Carlo Hotel and casino has a micro brewery. I live bands, great crowd and GREAT Beer selection. It's by the Belagio

The Monte Carlo stopped brewing in their brew pub, it is just another bar, so it is not like it use to be! :(

Sin City is a good place to grab a brew that is fresh.

At the NYNY casino they have a bar called Pour 24 and have different mircos on tap. The have flights of beers that you can try, so you can try a few different beers at one time.

Triple-7 Brewery... great cheap food and beer. They've won a lot at the GABF for their Black Cherry Stout, but every time I'm in town they don't have it... definitely good beers though!:mug:

Check out SNAFU (http://www.nevadabrew.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome) They meet at The Freakin Frog (http://www.freakinfrog.com/).

Currently they have the following beers on tap:

  • Delirium Tremens Belgian Ale
  • Rouge's Charlie Strong Ale
  • Black Butte Porter
  • Lindeman's Framboise
  • Chimay White
  • Pabst Blue Ribbon Lager
  • Newcastle Brown Ale
  • Cindercone Seasonal Red Ale
  • Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
  • Anchor Steam Ale
  • Pyramid Snow Cap
  • Sprecher Bourbon Barrel
  • Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
  • Old Fog Horn Barley Wine
  • Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat
Yea, not spectac, but maybe hit the website and give them a shout. OB. mention that you know me and use my real name and they might remember me and my association with Ron of Papago.

Thanks for the information, everyone! :mug:

Freakin' Frog just made the list. Rochefort and Westvleteren, those 2 are worth the trip by themselves.

Triple 7 will get a visit as well.

I'm not sure why, but my wife seems surprised that I'm planning this vacation around beer and where to get good beer. :D

I'm still staring at the bottle selection at Freakin' Frog. I may never leave that place.

Chicago Brewing Co and Big Dogs are a must. Tenaya Creek is another decent one.

I personally have not liked any of the Sin City beers.

Freakin Frog does have an amazing bottle selection and a good tap list. Yardhouse is a good one also with a big tap list and great food. Rosemaries off of the strip has amazing food and excellent beer pairings... a bit pricey though.

Burger Bar in Mandalary is another good place for beers.

As mentioned, Monte Carlo no longer has their brewpub.

I moved from Vegas a little less than a year ago, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Thats sad Monte Carlo stopped brewing. Last time I was there with SWMBO we had a couple of Giraffes and I'm not really sure how we made it back to our room. :tank:

Ahh good times.

interesting thread. subscribed. I'm heading to Vegas middle of May for a wedding with wife and son...which means less time at the craps table and possibly just more time drinkin' beer.

Im going in two days. I have done a little research on this yself. I was looking for places near the new strip that was walkable or almost walkable.
One that I havent seen mentioned is ellis island steak casino and brewery.
Its near the strip. Ive heard the beer is ok, the beer is real cheap, but the place is nasty.
I will proabably try it out. It also has a very cheap steak dinner.

I went to Vegas a few weeks ago.
Actually Henderson, a few mils out on Las Vegas Blvd.
I went to the Yard House, and the bar @ the new "M" hotel/casino.
The "M" was nice, and the Yard House was so cool. 160 beers on tap, I think, plus you get to walk pass the 'keg room' on the way in. Pretty cool.

+1 on Big Dog's (Its a little far from the strip though!)
And there's a few Big Dog's btw. Stay far away from the Bar & Grill on Nellis or wear a chain wallet!

+100000000000 on the frog. That place rules. :rockin:
There's also a Gordobn Biersch or two in town, and Tenaya Creek (if it's still there) was not too shabby either.

We're headed out later this week. Anyone in the area want to organize a meet-up?

I know we'll be hitting up Freakin Frog, Sin City and The Yard House.

great thread!! i typically spend about 3 months of my life in vegas a year, and although i will prolly get a bunch of crap for this, i usually spend most of the time in whatever hotel i got put in....(i am there to make money, not spend it)

now i cant wait to go back and try some of these places!! but once again, as murphey's law would have it, the plane is down for its major scheduled maintenance, and i wont be able to try any of these places for another couple weeks....they are on my list of things to do though for sure!

Ellis Island casino brews their own. Also as mentioned earlier, the 777 at Main Street Station, downtown. Hit them up at happy hour, used to be imperial pints for 2 bucks but now they are down to 16 0z. Check out their website. I will be there the 1st week of Oct. for the bikefest, staying at the Plaza, so it's just a short crawl to the 777. Be aware that a lot of places charge an exhorbitant amount of $$ for their "premium" beers. If you don't mind drinking a few BMC beers there are plenty of 1 and 2 dollar deals all over town.

Nice. I'll be there October 1-4 for the wedding and it happens to be bikefest! That's badass. I'm looking forward to a weekend of bikes and beers, with a wedding thrown into the mix.

There's a new way, way off-strip place called M that has a good selection of quality craft and import beers that they will comp if you're playing table games or slots or whatever. It's way south of the strip though.

I just remembered something about the Chicago Brewery, the little pub they have in the Four Queens downtown. Last time I was in there I orders a wheat for the OL and a lager for myself, 2 pints, 8 bucks. Yea, a little steep, the next round I ordered another wheat for the OL and an IPA for myself, 12 bucks. I asked the 'tender if he made a mistake and he said no, there was a hops shortage and they HAD to raise the price on hoppy beers. I said 100% a pint, told him they were full of s**t and walked out. Just so ya know, ask the price first.
