Hello everyone -

I'm hoping some of you out there with competition/judging experience can help guide me in the right direction here. I'll be entering beers into a few upcoming homebrew comps, and am wondering what category I should enter my coffee porter in... (these comps all use the BJCP 2008 style guidelines)

Initially I was thinking I'd put it in "12B - Robust Porter" - but seeing as it has a huge coffee presence (I added 2L of cold-press coffee at bottling time) I'm worried that I might get dinged since its not a standard porter. So with that in mind would I be better off entering it as "21A - Spice, Herb, Vegetable Beer" ?

You can see the recipe here in case that helps...

thoughts?

All feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Since coffee stouts are listed as commercial examples of 21A, I guess that is the best place.

Yeah I'm definitely leaning that way now, but just looking for a little reassurance...

thanks for the feedback!

:)
