I am an electrical noob and I want to build a stand alone RIMS for my 20 gallon system (usually make 10 gallon batches). I have a B3-2050 full digital system; so, I have a pump and electrical switch driven by the thermometer (although I think I should ignore this existing set-up.)
I want to use a PID and continuously recirculate the wort. I hope that I can get by with a 120v set-up. I dont mind doing any gross temp adjustments by manually using the gas burner and using the RIMS for maintenance.
OK - Ive read a bunch of threads; but, do you know a thread that details how to make this stand alone device <only>. Im hoping this wont be too hard to do if I buy the RIMS tube.
Your help is appreciated.
