I am about to transfer to a secondary for a long term bulk aging and don't want to have a large head space. Since it is a one gal batch moving to a smaller carboy is not an option. I bought some "vase filler" (flattened marbles) that claim to be pure glass. Does anyone know if there is any coating that could be adverse to the batch?
