Hi guys,

On Sunday I brewed two 40 pint batches - one from a kit and one all grain.

The kit is fermenting nicely and there is a 'crust' on top. :D

My all grain isn't doing anything!

I'm assuming the temperature is okay since the kit beer seems to be fine and I'm also fermenting some wine in the same room.

This is my first run using liquid yeast (a 'smack pack' I think it was called).

Can anyone think what might be happening?!?

If anyone can help I would be grateful. Let me know what info you need in order to help me.

Many thanks.

probably was old yeast. give it some time and next time make a starter and make sure to use oxygen

The yeast was new, well to me at least. I only bought it two weeks before.

Oxygen might be a good call though.
