I brewed 2 batches of All Grain what I called "American Wheat Beer". I've brewed this before and I liked it. The grain bill is 6 lbs Wheat malt 4 lbs 2 row . 1/2 oz magmum hops 60 Mins. The yeast is Wyeast American Ale #1056 activator. The first batch turned out great. 5 days after bottling the 2nd batch, I opened a bottle and it tasted bitter. I suspected something might be wrong because there was some dark crud at the top of the secondary corboy that tasted bitter. The only difference the 2 batches that I brewed was that I used the yeast from the first batch for the 2nd batch. Any suggestions? Could the problem be using second hand yeast with any crud that might be in it?
