Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I've tried searching the topic and couldn't find an answer. I am looking to upgrade my system to produce either a 10 or 15 gallon batch sizes, so I will be looking at a 15 or 20 gallon boil kettle. I currently use BIAB in an 11 gallon kettle. Upgrading to a larger kettle and larger volumes of wort, I wont be able to just carry around the finished (6g) kettle like I currently do. Also, I wont be using an auto-siphon to siphon the beer off the trub as it will take to long... So my question is, how do you all deal with the layer of trub on the bottom of the BK where the ball valve is? Do you only suck a little out and the rest stays? Do you use filters? What works best for everyone? Should I mount the ball valve high? Please fill me in!
