Hey I was just looking for some input on a honey wheat beer that I'm planning. I don't normally create my own recipes so fire away with what ever seems out of place, too much or missing. Choosing hops is still a little random for my so I'll take your suggestions. This will probably be a lager. I might do an ale later. If it's an ale I'll likely go with US-05, if a lager then S-23 - I like dry yeast.
Here's my goal:
A clean, fairly dry citrusy/honey flavored light wheat beer, around 5% abv, ~25 IBU.
Here's my recipe:
5 lbs two row (or maybe pilsner malt)
4 lbs flaked wheat
8 oz honey malt
1 lb honey
8 oz to 1 lb rice hulls
~.25 oz @ 60 min Galina 60min bittering
~.75 oz @ min Cascade 20 min flavor
What do you think?
