I have two batches in secondaries a maple pumpkin and a gingerbread stout. Both of these recipes had spice in them both were done by mini-mash. My first brew just used grain steeping not a mini-mash, and had no spices. Also my first brew used dry yeast. The pumpkin and stout used liquid yeast. The first brew was nice and clear in the secondary the stout, which has only been in for a day, and the pumpkin both have these floating things on top. The beer itself taste okay but this floating stuff bothers me. It doesn't grow or get bigger and it's been there since primary. It looks like the trub on the bottom but it floats. What is this? Some of the floaters in the pumkin sank after a while it's been sitting a week but it still bothers me can someone here set my mind at ease?
