Hello all! I am new to this sport but have been trying to do some reading so my beer comes out okay. My question is; I just built a kegerator and was wondering if I make a five gallon batch, can I bottle half of it and keg the rest? Or if using a five gallon cornelius keg should the whole thing be filled up? I know there are three gallon kegs out there, but I just can't bring myself to spending that much money for one, even though they are ideally what I need.
Any help would be appreciative!

Yes, you can keg half and bottle half. Since you are filling the keg with CO2, it's really not a problem with the headspace. It is a really bummer about those smaller kegs being so expensive because I would like a couple for the same reason.

Welcome to HBT!
