I just brewed Ed's Oktoberfast ale. I have a 25' 3/8" immersion coil that I use for shilling. Even in the hottest month of the year I was able to cool 11 gallons to 70 degrees from boiling in 20 minutes! I can't wait for my system to be done, for all I know my wort may be cooled by the time I think about cooling it down ;) I guess having a deep well comes in handy sometimes!

You suck.:D . It takes me at least 20 min to cool 5 gallons with an immersion chiller and a pre chill immersion chiller.

On the bright side I don't freeze my nuts off all winter.

We are fortunate to have a big kettle (40+ gallon boil capacity).
With a 30' 1/2" copper immersion chiller and a real nice agitator to keep things swirling around we are down to <70 degs after 30 minutes using well water. Stirring makes all the difference.

58 F out of my faucet and it was 82 and humid today. Fifty feet of 3/8" brought my wort down to under 70 in a little over ten minutes.

On the bright side I don't freeze my nuts off all winter.

That is why I recommend wearing pants outside in winter. But that's just me.
