Just thought I would share. Here are some photos of what I've managed this year. Two first year Cascades.

I planted them sometime in late March or early April.

They're facing south. I definitely give them a lot of water. The soil has some Black Kow (I think it's called) mixed in.

Finally I picked and dried some of the hops ready to come off on August 17th. Unfortunately I didn't get photos of the plant before harvest but it definitely filled out compared to the latest photo above. I managed to pick 246 grams wet. It looks like I will have a second harvest opportunity in a week or two maybe.

Definitely a lot more work than I anticipated but it's cool to have hops growing in the backyard. Makes for nice scenery on brew day or whatever.
