Poll: Help with my brewery logo

I'm working on a logo for my brewery. The name is Gebler Hund which is "yellow dog" in German (named after my big yellow lab). My friends got together and had a professional graphic artist mock up a logo but I wasn't really happy with it. I did like the dog in it, so I worked on some variations of my own. I'm looking for some opinions on which ones look good and what I could do to improve them. Which colors do you like? What can be done to make them look more finished? 4. The name stands out better with the white and the black.

i agree too. #4 looks great, although i'm not sure about the border color

I'd have too agree as well dump the border on #4

it looks like #4 is the choice.

i like #4, kinda reminds me of a certain homebrew store logo though...
