i was checking my second home brew batch and i accidentally pushed down on my bucket lid that i was using to brew my beer. When that happened water from my air lock got sucked in to my brew... what should i do? start fresh with a new brew or ride it out? im afraid there was bacteria in the it the water and it got mixed in to my brew. it really is unfortunate because i was going to bottle tomorrow. could someone give me some advice?

thanks!

It happened to me once where the air lock water got sucked back into the beer. It came out great. Don't worry.

last time i used some old cheap whiskey, but this time i just used tap water.

This is one of the reasons to use Starsan solution in an air lock. If the Starsan gets into the beer it is also no problem at all.

I try to use vodka now....if I can keep my brother-in-law away from it!!
