Confused on my IPA

Hello just a little confused on my IPA i brewed back in Sep. After bottling and three weeks gone by was excited to tast it. Some decapointment that there was no hop aroma or hoppy taste to it. I did a partial and did dry hop. well today 4 months later I wanted to try one out and when I popped it open a very nice hop aroma and a great hoppy taste.:rockin:. I was stoked but am not understanding how all this is coming about.

I'm guessing the first one you tried was a bit oxidized.

you do realize that time does work against you with ipas and hop flavor and aroma go away. Next time drink it sooner

Yup, waited too long. I've done the same thing. IPA's should be drunk fairly quickly.

Reread the OP.

The one he opened LATER had "a very nice hop aroma and a great hoppy taste."

Oh. Well that changes everything. No idea then, sorry OP.

Maybe just carbonation bringing forth the aromas you couldn't smell when it was uncarbed?

YA I was not to sure my self I was thinking the aroma and flavor would have been gone. Oh well im just going to enjoy the rest of my batch then. Drink them quick before it goes away.
