Hey everyone, I have a Belgian Lambic brewing right now. Its in the 4th month of a 6 month long secondary. About 1 month ago I brewed up a 5 gallon batch of Great Divide's Hibernation "old ale" Clone. My question is.... Can I take my turkey baster and pull a sample from the lambic carboy and add it to 1 gallon of the old ale? Would this be enough "bugs" that I would be introducing to create a aged old ale? I would like to rack 1 gallon over to a small carboy and let it sit and mature for a year or so. Any thoughts?

I'd go a little more. There is not much in a turkey baster. That said, many people claim a lot of success with just using the dregs from beers.

I'd probably make it about 6 ozs (that's about 5% of a gallon). If you sanitize your hydrometer you can check the gravity at the same time.
