I've read the how to make your own beer gun. And plan on making one. But my next project is a twin tap tower. Since i have to buy a distribution block for the co2. Should i upgrade to the 3 way and have a co2 purge line for bottling off the keg?

IMO, unless you like disconnecting and reconnecting gas lines from quick-disconnects, you can't go wrong by having an available line for purging carboys/kegs/bottles.
