I've washed a bunch of other batches and have never seen this. This is the first washing from a fresh vial of WLP500. Two of my four jars are nice and smooth on top, the other two look like this. I am wondering if this is ok to thrown into a starter and use, or is that little mountain range forming in there some crazy yeast colony?

Looks normal, lots of my washed yeast looks the same. Just made a starter other day with jar that was identical to yours, worked great and smells like fresh healthy yeast.

Looks like the one I just threw out. I had washed three jars worth and recognized that one took a lot longer to clear than the other two. Recently, I was going to combine my yeast and saw the same thing(not as big) in the one that stayed turbid.
