Hola,

Relatively new to the site and looking for some advice on a IIPA recipe. Specifically, if I'm going overboard and/or should tweak the boil/hop schedule. I'm shooting for a bold, citrusy IPA, balanced by some Simcoe with a big dry hop. For a 3-gallon boil, this bad-boy is clocking in around 100 IBU's. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

boil 60 mins 2.5 Warrior pellet (16.7)
boil 15 mins 1.0 Amarillo pellet (7.0)
boil 15 mins 1.0 Citra pellet (13.9)
boil 15 mins 0.5 Simcoe pellet (13.0)
boil 10 mins 0.5 Amarillo pellet
boil 10 mins 0.5 Citra pellet
boil 10 mins 0.5 Simcoe pellet
boil 1 min 2.0 Citra pellet
dry hop 7 days 0.5 Amarillo leaf
dry hop 7 days 3.0 Citra leaf
dry hop 7 days 0.5 Simcoe leaf
dry hop 7 days 0.5 Warrior leaf

Looks good to me! I like more 5 minute and 0 minute hops but that schedule works well also. If I was going to change it, I'd do this:

boil 15 mins 1.0 Amarillo pellet (7.0)
boil 10 mins 1.0 Citra pellet (13.9)
boil 5 mins 1 oz Simcoe pellet (13.0)
boil 5 mins 0.5 Citra pellet
boil 1 min 1oz Citra pellet
boil 1 mins 0.5 Amarillo pellet

I wouldn't use warrior for dryhopping- I just don't like it all that much and you can "muddy" your citrus/fruit/resiny dryhopping. Three varieties of dryhopping is plenty, at least with those three varieties.

Cool, thanks. I was a little on the fence about the Warrior DH (and actually took out some late additions of it) and was throwing it in more to just finish my supply. We'll see how this one comes out! Appreciate the response.

Thanks!
