I am about to hook my keg up for the first time..I plan on just setting and forgetting it at 10 to 12 psi..do I just do that then purge and check for leaks or should I set it to like 30 to set everything, purge and then check for leaks and then back it down?

You may get it to seal at 10-12 psi, but then again, you may not. You can check for leaks and hit it at 30 psi to seal it if need be, or just always hit it at 30 first.
