Any suggestions? Would like to try a pilsner and stick it in my beer fridge to ferment around these temps. Seems like a lot of the lager yeast I am finding is for higher temps.

Your best bet is the Wyeast Danish 2042. Low end temp range is 46 degrees. 44 degrees is pushing it, but that's your best bet. If you try it, you need to make sure you have visible fermentation before you fridge it otherwise it might not take off.
