When I add frozen cherries to secondary do I have to crush them at all or just dump the bag in?

I prefer to crush them...I feel that making it easier for the yeast to convert the sugars gives me a better beer and the skin of the cherries is pretty thick. The downside to this is that you get more sediment in your beer...so some people prefer not to crush and place in a nylon bag.
