went to the LHBS to get CO2 and...

low and behold I came out with 3 oz of Simcoe hops, apparently he has a "secret stash" and I guess I was deemed worthy. What a great day. I just felt that I had to share.

My LHBS doesn't even like me enough to let me buy extra hops.

It's amazing what bringing a 6'r of HB to your LHBS will do to get you access to those special services.

well, here is the tentative plan

20 lbs Weyermann organic pilsner
1 lb Crystal 80
1/2 lb Dingman Special B
1/4 lb Chocolate malt

1 oz glacier (FWH)
2 oz Amarillo (60)
1/2 oz glacier (15)
1 oz simcoe (7)
1 oz simcoe (2)
WL California Ale Yeast

10 gal batch and dry-hop each carboy with 1/2 oz simcoe and 1/2 oz glacier

OG 1.056, SRM 15.5 or so, IBU 45

sort of an American Brown Ale, but with German base malt
