Can you use standard crown caps on a Belgian Darks? Many belgian beers I have had seem to use champaign style wired down corks. I wouldn't mind diving into that, but If its not needed I won't worry about it atm.

Yeah, you can. 95% of the Belgian dubbels I've tried have had standard crown caps on. As far as I'm aware, the cap vs cork thing is purely aesthetic. Though I have heard people saying that you should be careful when bottling Belgians to make sure you use bottles strong enough to take the extra carbonation. Apparently some standard beer bottles aren't necessarily able to withstand the additional pressure.

Great now I am nervous... lol :D

I have 22 ounce bombers I was going to use... but maybe I should invest in some heavy swingtops or something.
