Is there a good reason to leave the beer in the primary fermenter after the final gravity has been reached? The irish red that I brewed 7 days ago has already reached it's final gravity and I'm wondering if I should let it go longer or just bottle.

Let it go. You'll find many on here feel some benifit to leaving it on the yeast cake for 14+ days. I often leave mine on for 21 days. The yeast do more for your beer than just creat abv.
