So went out to move all my brewing equip from last nights session. it was all cleaned last night but i guess i didnt clean the kettle as well as i thought i did and i found some awesome things growing in there in a few spots so i scrubbed it up again but found that where whatever it was was growing there are now gouges in the pot (aluminum). Do i need to scrap this pot and get a new one or is this one still good to use for brewing?

it's still good, but you'll probably need to build up a new oxide layer. do that by boiling water in it for a few minutes

It's still good. Just get it completely clean, then boil some water in it for an hour or so to re-passivate the aluminum.

EDIT: Mid-air collision with Krazy. Could be a few minutes is enough to build a new oxide layer - I was just using an hour to make sure. :)

Ok awesome is this something i need to do everytime?

Ok awesome ill see if they helps. If not then on to stainless haha
