I figured id back sweeten with apple concentrate. I was thinking of like frozen apple juice concentrate, like minute made or something. Anyone know a good frozen juice? and how many cans i should use to sweeten 5 gallons so its not over sweet?

I'm not sure about frozen concentrate
but for 1 gal I used 1 liter of apple juice and thought it would be to much
but it came out just nice
if I were to guess I would say put 3 cans (thawed first) in and try it and add how ever many cans to taste from there
thats 3 cans with out mixing them with the water they call for
let us know how it works

Generic frozen apple juice often does not have sorbate or other anti-yeast preservatives in it, so most any brand should be good. Supposedly one frozen thing makes about 48 oz. of juice, so depending on how far to dryness the cider/apfelwein that you want to sweeten went, you could probably be good with 1 frozen can per gallon.

Sweetening is pretty much always "to taste". If you want to carb it, then you need to do some math. ;)
