what is this? yeast or infection?

I pitched the yeast last night. it started to ferment vigorously, airlock is crying for help :)

and then today I saw this thing on the inner side of a glass carboy neck. what is it, I'm so worried now. if it is some kind of infection would you recommend opening the carboy and wiping it with a sanitized cloth??

It looks fine. You can get a lot of funk pushed up by the foam during fermentation. Don't go jamming anything in the carboy.
 
Hehe, that's probably from when you pitched your yeast and some hit the sides.

of course this is the first thing that I thought of because I really took good care of sanitation and everything.

what made me suspicious were these black spots in the middle of formations... this reminded me of some molds or sth like that....
