We encourage all members to gift or swap beer for the purposes of education, feedback on recipes, brewing techniques and learning to judge and evaluate beers.

All group exchanges should be coordinated by a Supporting Member or preferably a Moderator. Exchanges are restricted to supporting members unless otherwise stated.

You must state in advance who is to be included in the exchange. People may object to disclosing information to those that are not supporting members.

Remember that you are providing personal and identifying information to that individual and that such disclosure should be considered when agreeing to participate.

If you are organizing, understand that you may be asked by participants to provide such information in kind. Furthermore, the success or failure of such an undertaking falls squarely on your shoulders. You will have to enforce due dates and may have to confront those that did not follow through on their end of the bargain. You may have to cajole others to join, provide extra bottles, bow out of receiving to even out the exchange. Clear out your PM box, because you are bound to get lots of replies.

All other members are welcome to exchange beer but should do so on a one-to-one basis unless they are participating in a group exchange coordinated by a Supporting Member or a Moderator.

Finally, NO BEER SALES!

HBT Never Heard of NAFTA Clause:
Please note that restrictions for international shipping and customs makes it unlikely that an exchange can occur between countries.

BierMuncher's Anti-Welch Clause**:
Stiffing your recipients will likely lead to being banned in any future participation events and there's no guarantee you won't be called out in public. Word gets around on this board. This does not apply to unavoidable circumstances occurring so long as they have been communicated to the person expecting your shipment.

Giving your posted or PM'ed commitment to participate and then not communicating is unacceptable.

** No. BierMuncher never stiffed nobody. He's just looking out for you.

Legal age is 21.

By participating in any beer swaps facilitated by this site you affirm that you are at least 21 years of age and that the person to whom your beer/wine/mead will be delivered is also at least 21 years of age.

In certain Countries / States the legal age for buying alcohol is 21. If you are participating in any alcohol swaps facilitated by this site for delivery to these applicable Countries / States, by participating in any beer swaps facilitated by this site, you affirm that you are of the applicable legal age to do so.

Use some common sense here. If you happened to register to this site and you are not of legal drinking age, do not place any of your brother and sisters in brew in any kind of legal or ethical jeopardy.

We don't have the means to verify the age and identity of individuals, so do the right thing.
