Hey all,

New here. Been reading and learning alot here. Thanks for all the info here!!
I did a search for "specialty grains" and got 500 hits (and read through quite a few titles) so please don't slam me if this is a super noob question that has been answered way too many times.

I've used crystal malt in several of my most recent batches. Are there any other specialty grains that only need to be soaked in hot water for a short period of time and are simple to use by an extract brewer like crystal malt other than black patent, chocolate and roasted barley?

Thanks

There are a few others, like special b and honey malt, but if you really want to open your brewing world up, look into stepping up to mini-mashes. Mini mashing doesn't require alot of equipment, and it lets you use some of the other malts that need to be mashed, like munich, vienna, rye, and many others.

here is a link to the Easy Partial Mash Brewing Sticky
