I only carry a corny with one handle anyways. I have plenty of kegs, but I would buy more of these if I needed some.

Bought 4, after shipping $70
Found lids on ebay for $6, after shipping $34 (mountain_man_89 is the user id selling them)

Total of $104 bucks for some kegs....I have been waiting on a deal like this to come along!!!

Thanks tulsabrewdaddy, grabbed 2 of those ebay lids to complement the lidless kegs. :)

Went that route too last time this sale came along. Be careful though, you will get some old lids and a few might have leaking relief valves...

Yeah, I'm going to test everything before I put anything in them. I figured for 6 bucks it was worth the risk....

Thanks OP! I picked up 4 with lids. I have received free kegs in the past with loose tops/bottoms and just reattached them with some epoxy and they have not failed in two years plus of use.

I bought some of these from the store when I was up visitin my girlfriends parents acouple years ago. I got 8 but at that time they all had lids and all held pressure for 15 a piece. The only issue was the rubber bottoms where coming off. One tube of Marine glue and good to go....looking back should have picked up all of them tho didnt have anymore room in the car. Guess thats what roofs are made for.

Just ordered four. I luckily score an ebay lot a while back with a ton of keg parts for 30 buck. It had 6 lids, so I am good to go. 4 shipped to pa was 65 bucks, a steal in todays keg market.

Just re-glue them down. I've used Gorilla glue to re-glue tops and bottoms and it's never come off.

Yep, I've used gorilla glue as well with good results. I just clean the worst of the old glue out, and use enough gorilla glue to foam up and fill the gap between the steel and the rubber. They seem to hold well.

I just ordered half with new lids and half with their secondary fermenter lids ($10 for the lid w/ bung and airlock isn't bad in my book). I'll test what I get and I figure ones that don't hold pressure are still probably fine for holding starsan or as secondary fermenters.

I grabbed a few.. They're sold out for now. Thanks OP for the heads up. I think this'll get me kegging on the cheap!

Just got my 4. They are in pretty good shape. Dirty to all hell, but nothing some pbw and bkf wont fix. Mine are the style with the straight dip tube and the channel on the side of the bottom, not the angled dip tube that goes to the center. One needs a new post, looks like the keg was dragged behind a bus. Luckily I have a ton of spare keg parts. Well worth 17 each. I hope they hold pressure.

Great find.

Got all 4 of mine and two are already in use! As for the condition 1 was almost perfect with just about 1" of the top pulling up and was fixed in seconds. Another had a top that completely was off which is actually really nice since I was able to completely clean it and the top of the keg and re-glue it. Another had only half the top attached and again was easily fixed and the last keg top was not pulling up at all but one of the handles was cut in half which is the worst to repair IMO. I am thinking about just using some automotive aluminum that I can wrap around and clamp to support the handle. As for the posts they are all in good shape except for the set on one keg and may need to be replaced but I am not done working with them just yet. Pretty good deal in the end. And besides the one I am still working with they all hold pressure just fine.

I think they get them every once in awhile. I remember seeing them on their before. Wish I got in on it this time

I got 10 of them on this go-around. (ahem). I kept adding some until the shipping price per keg fell to $5.

I also happened to have about 20+ tops from Mountain_men. Out of the first 4, 3 of the release valves leaked.

After taking apart the release valves, I realized that there's a replaceable o-ring in there. I looked through my spare parts box, and sure enough I had the right size. I installed one to try it out, and sure enough, it worked great! If I remember correctly, the size is #36. I think it's the SECOND smallest size that Home Depot carries.

One thing about the o-ring is that it looks like it doesn't want to really stick on there. You have to pull the lever in the open position before you can install it. Once the o-ring and valve are installed in the keg lid, the o-ring will be compressed and it will work.

Just thought that I'd pass this along.

So far I've restored 3 kegs, with 3 more with oxyclean soaking in them. The insides are all pretty clean, the outside, not so clean.

I got 10 of all kinds. Some have plastic in-tubes, some are centered, some are offset. Some are blue, most are black. Some tops are split, some one-handle is missing, etc. They're all usable.

Out of the 3 that I've put back together, none of them had problems except for the top's release valve which is not related really since they came from a different source.

My procedure:

Remove both fittings (7/8" wrench and some required a hammer)
Remove the dip tubes
Press out the poppets from the top using small needle-nose pliers (I get more leverage than a screwdriver)
Remove the dip tube o-rings
Remove the fitting o-rings
Put all parts inside the keg
Put one scoop of oxyclean
Fill as full as I can with hot water
Soak for 2 hours or so.
Drain out, rinse.
Install new dip tube and fittings o-rings
Install new lid o-ring onto new lid
(Replace release valve o-ring if necessary)
Pressure-test.

Done. Having a homebrew right now. :mug:

Just got mine in, very happy! Not to mention that one came with a lid and the guy I bought the kids from in eBay threw in a extra lid!!

One's missing all handles. Gonna be a bit tricky to carry that one.

Probably just cut on of the loose handles off and gorilla glue it to that one.

You bought kids from ebay?

I'm kickin myself for not picking up some of these. Not too hard though, since beverage elements has them with lids for 20.

Kids on eBay, Hahahahaha thanks for calling me out. Also good to know about the other deal.

I never ordered them, but i'm probably going to order a couple. From the looks of it, they should be ready to go, just a messed up handle

I really detest shipping costs. For 2 kegs, its 17, for 3 its 33. Geez, that sucks. I'll order 2 when I get home

I haven't been kegging long, but even full I dont use botn handles. If thats the only defect, its fine by me

Just ordered 2 and some disconnects. Like I said, the one handle doesn't bother me, I"m just hoping that's the only thing wrong with them.

Ordered 2 a week ago. They were in good shape pretty clean. Would definitely order again.
