I thought it might be interesting to see if homebrewing attracted more people from any particular industry or if we're evenly spread all over the board.

I considered adding "Porn Star" to the job list but I figured that would probably get a 100% hit rate.

(By the way, I'm an Office Monkey - upside is lots of time to goof off at homebrew forums!)

AHU

We got a fair amount of computer geeks out here. I chose engineering as that was as close a fit to IT geek you had.

I wish you'd stop reminding us of that fact!

I work at a campus McDonald's as a shift manager, FOR RIGHT NOW. I also do a lot of filmwork, acting, directing, running cameras, etc., but it doesn't actually pay anything (except the one part I got that paid 500$, and maybe when that comes out I'll get more paid acting jobs ). Sometimes I end up shelling out my hard earned cash to get a short film made. But I love doing it, and it's what I listed as my occupation, kind of as wishful thinking. McDonald's gives me time to do all of this, and it is relatively stress-free, so I don't mind. Also, since it's on campus, I work with college kids and people who also work for the college but need supplemental income. No high-school kids or semi-retarded adults. Also, everyone there is very anti-McDonald's. It's kind of a fun place to work.

Quality Assurance Test Analyst here. Basically check applications our programmers either change or develop and see if I can break them.
Lately its been slow, but the beginning of the year will be terrible.

Marketing Communication / Web site Manager.

Responsible for brochure creation (including design), collateral marketing materials, ad specialty management and all facets of print / online marketing. Web designer and developer skilled in HTML, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, SQL and Access.

IN otherwords, Geek. I have a second interview on Wednesday for a job I'm really hoping to get.

it takes cahonies do do it, and you should be proud of it. maybe you'll get a big break and include us in a sitcom or b-movie

I'm a graduate student. Which means that when I eventually get my doctorate around, say, the age of 90, I'll be in the market for a job.

Hell, if I'm as spry at 90 as my grandma was...! (For her 90th birthday, the neighborhood liquor store donated a keg a beer because she was such a loyal customer. Grandma loved her beer.)
