This Christmas I received a Brewmaster's Select American Pilsner kit with the following ingredients...

4 lbs. Extra Light Dried Malt Extract
1 lb Rice Solids
1 bag special malts - crystal malt 10l
1/2 oz hallertauer, bitter hops
1/2 saaz, aromatic flower hops
White Labs WLP830 yeast

After receiving this as a gift, I realized that I do not have the means to keep the temperature low during fermentation as the yeast suggests. Is there any yeast I could substitute for the one I have so I can avoid having to use the low temps but still use the remaining ingredients? Thanks for any help.

If you can get into the upper 50s, Kolsch yeast is very lager-like. Otherwise, a clean ale yeast like 1056/US-05/WLP001 fermented in the low 60s will be good.

I'd agree with kolsch yeast as being lager-like at the right temps, FWIW.
