So my new kettles arrived and before I install the ball valves, I thought I'd inquire as to thoughts on best placement.

From the online sites, I see that on the megapots and polarware kettles, the valve is placed between the two handles. However, Blichmann appears to place theirs right under one of the handles.

Anyone know why blichmann places their valve in that location? Is there any advantage? Disadvantage?

Thanks for the info!

When placing the ball valve on my pots, I did like Blichmann and placed the valve and thermometer under the handle. I did this so that, however I pick up the kettle, the ball valve will always be at one of the sides. It will never be jabbing me in the stomach. It works well for me and i thought that this might be part of the rationale for Blichmann for going against conventional wisdom. Works for me.:mug:
