I have a keg that i am not making very good use of and want to try a soda kit. Is carbinating soda with CO2 and a corny keg any different than what you would do with beer?

I would leave the yeast out of the soda recipe?
:ban:

the only difference is the dissolved co2 volume, soda has a much higher carbonation level than beer so the pressures are higher. i like to carb for a week at 50psi, then serve at 30psi using 15' of 3/16" beer line.

leave out the yeast and some of the sugar.

I use 40 psi and 20' of 3/16ths. Dedicate a keg to soda to save on o-ring replacement.

If you want to do a fast force, put 4-7 lbs of ice in the keg, then add the makings and top off, leaving 3-4 inches of head space. Seal, pressurize and shake. If your back can't handle it (like mine), lay a a couple 2x4s on the floor and rock the keg. AKA the kids helping option.
