A kid in my area just started a blog to track his hop farming endeavors. Ive met him and Ive got to say, he really knows his stuff. Ill be interested to see how he does with this thing, supposedly hes going to plant 160 rhizomes. I know Ill be following his progress, maybe Ill even help him out.
 
Should be good for us brewers as everyone is rushing into hop growing and sooner or later the glut will begin and prices will be crazy cheap. I know of a commercial farmer who several years ago ripped out all the hops and recently started replanting.
 
The way he explained his plan to me was that he would focus on selling the hops fresh to local breweries for wet hop harvest ale.
 
not too recently as he has expanded from 3 rhizomes to almost 350...
