Here we go, this should be simple. We are shooting for a full pallet purchase of grains by the bag. If you want less than a full bag, the price will be listed next to the bag price as a per lb price. I just requested a new price list from GWM. Prices have changed a bit. Price also reflects a $5 per bag charge to pay for the gas for transporting the grain from the malter to Olympia. Pickup will be in Olympia at my brewery. Address will be furnished with invoice. These prices are for the 40 bags or less. If we get more than 40 bags, a price break will be involved and that amount refunded upon pickup.

Hop prices do not have a fuel charge as we are going there anyways and hops aren’t that heavy. Hop orders need to fill the 11lb minimum. These hop prices are outrageously low. For what you would pay for 2-3 ounces, you could get a lb.

All orders will be through this thread. I will PM an invoice to you and payment will be accepted through Paypal ONLY. Orders need to be in by 3/15/11. Orders will be available for pickup on 3/19/11. This is prepay only, I don't need a bunch of extra sacks to store on credit, ya know? Let's get it done and save some money. Current prices in Olympia are $1.50lb at Healthcrafts and $1.79+ at Rockytop, you do the math.

I will be doing a whole leaf hop group order in the future from hopsdirect.com (I have family in the area and can stop by after a visit from the farm). Keep an eye out for that order.

I'm assuming that requests for anything less than a full bag are subject to revision based on what everyone orders? If only one person orders 10lbs of acidulated malt, you won't be buying a full sack, right?

FYI the Superior Pilsen is in a 55# sack not 50#

BTW, If you want hop prices like what I can get and it is economicably feasable for you, I am willing to go out of my way to ship via flat rate USPS.

Are we talking $5 flat rate boxes?

I guess that would depend on how many lb's of hops you order. Just count on the $12.95 flat rate box.

I will see if anybody else wants to split a couple of lbs in my group buy.

Are you sure you can get the hops by the pound? When I ordered Simcoe from Mid-Country (the Chicago office) last time, I had to get an 11 lb box. I think they just price them by the pound for simplicity.

How many pounds of hops do you expect you can get in the large flat rate box? Are hops already pre-packaged in 1 lb increments or do you have to buy in bulk and repackage as to what was ordered?

Ok, someone mentioned earlier in the thread about GWM selling hops in 11lb sacks. I have to call the rep tommorow to find out for sure. I got this off the website

"Great care is taken when our hops are processed to protect the pristine oil profile so desired by our customers. Our hop pellets are produced at an extremely slow rate and utilize nitrogen to cool the pellet die to accomplish this goal. As a result, we consider our T-90 hop pellets to be the best available. Our hop pellets are packaged in 11 lbs. or 44 lbs. nitrogen flushed and vacuum sealed packages."

I was unaware that the hops had to be ordered in 11lb bags. Due to confusion on my part, I will have to make a judgment call on the hops orders. I will send an updated invoice on 3/15/11. If the hop orders are feasible and I won’t be stuck with a ton of hops, we will run the order. If it is not feasible, we will cancel the hops portion of the order. If you ordered hops and the hops you ordered will fill the 11lb bag quota (or close enough for me), it will run like clockwork. I apologize for any inconvenience and shattered hopes. Again, I am truly sorry about the situation.Anyways here is the list

All hop orders will be honored. There is a list of hops and how many lbs have been ordered. Blast this to everyone you know. I would like to get the orders up to the 11lb mark for all hops, if not, its ok......

I'm still waiting to figure out what I need and a couple friends (I set the deadline for saturday for them).

If your going to have to repackage hops I hop you are going to add a bit for your time and packaging materials. I know when I handled a cascade buy with our club it took me about 3 hours to split up 11# into 4oz packs. I know we are going for pounds here but it will still take a considerable amount of time to repackage them.

I haven't finalized what I need but I'm in for a pound of these at least:
Centennial
Columbus
Chinook
Northern Brewer
Saaz
Tettnang
Magnum
Millenium (not on your list so if nobody else is in I can drop it)


Do you know if all of these are domestic hops or are the Nobles imported?
