Less grindcore, more wussy metal(???). New **** from Witchcraft, good for what it is, altough I prefer their old material.

Uh, Witchcraft still plays doom metal right? You do realize that grindcore is not considered metal, don't you Shift?

I guess they still do, their new album sounds more mainstream/accessible though. The song i posted even has gotten some airtime on national radio.

And regarding if grindcore is metal or punk, I generally lean towards classifying (modern) grindcore as metal. Altough it depends from record to record IMO, some are more punk than others. I've seen more metalheads with Repulsion patches than I've seen punks with them for example, not that it proves anything.

I guess one way to divide it is if they use double bass or a single kick, I mean, double bass isn't very punk. So that would place Nasum in the punk category, altough to me, this sounds more like metal than punk.

And then throw the whole pornocore-genre into the mix and I just don't know. (sidenote, Carcass?)

But bands like Siege which I'm rather sure did influence the early parts of grindcore sure play "punk" rather than metal.

No clue they Graveland was Pagan Metal now.

Actually I found out that's not new Graveland but rather a re-recording of Memory & Destiny in Polish.

Graveland is supposedly releasing a new album this year though. :ban:

Well put on the Grindcore topic Shift. :mug:

Very nice headbanger, always nice to hear black metal from a different country that usually wouldn't support this style of music.
