The day Obama was Elected to take over from Bush I was glad, so I made a special brew that day which still is in 2nd fermentation, but the taste is excellent. I decided to make a strong lager (6%) because Obama is strong. I also made it a Lager since it takes time to be mature. My problem came with the shade of the beer, Pale or dark would be wrong, so I made a non blond strong lager “Barack Obama Non Blond Strong Lager” (I still cant understand the USA politics, Mr Obama has a Black father and white mother, so he is not black nor white, he is an American, so what is this “we have a 1st black president thing) in the USA. That is all I want to say about that. My Obama Brew is one of the best brews I ever made and I think Barack Obama is going to be the best Pres. USA ever had. I hope one day he visits South Africa I can hand him a bottle of this special beer for a special man.

Welcome to the forum, you have a beautiful country, I went down there a few years ago and fell in love with the place and the people.

Yeah, I worked up a Taxaholic Socialist Porter for the occassion that tasted like crap and smelled even worst. I have my doubts this will get any better with age.

For once in my 37 years, I am proud to be an American. Brew on!!:tank:

lol... i wonder if when old bush got eleceted sombody made a pumpkin ale and called it "Cheater cheater pumpikin ale"(this is merely a joke and in no way is inteneded to offend or putdown another member of this site or anyother) .... oddly enough i made my first batch of cider when he was elected the 2nd time, and it tasted exactally the same as the last batch, i dont think brewing has a predictive nature ... oddly enough i was extreamly underaged at the time, and well i didnt much care as long as it made me feel fuzzy, and made my mind go plib... Dont much like politics, nobody can reall agree on it...but one thing everbody agrees on is good beer, so ill shut up now

cheers, hope your brew is good and i wouldnt sugest handing Obama a bottle, secrate service will never let him drink it... party poopin suites

Let me welcome you to HBT and congratulate you on a beer that sounds very interesting- a strong lager would be a nice beer.

Let's all keep in mind our policy regarding politics here at HBT and keep in mind that we're here to discuss beer and not political figures or positions.

Yes Welcome.

I lived in SA for a little time. It's a Wonderfull country.
Please do not discuss politics in the beer or general areas.

I made a Barack Obama American Brown Ale. The OG was higher than the style called for, as Obama is a man with extra gravitas. We gave it away at the local Democratic club to people who made phone calls to get out the vote.
