For anyone interested: I had a batch - Vienna/Hallertau SMASH - going at a buddy's house, knew it had started strong, didn't look in for 15 days. Checked it yesterday, noticed that the internal cap piece of my 3 piece airlock was missing - it had been open the whole time. Grabbed a sample with my thief - tasted fantastic.
I had pitched a strong starter of Wyeast 1056 into the small beer (OG 1.042), which is now at 1.013.
Dry hopped with an ounce of the In-Bev/AB giveaway hops; bottle in one week.

The middle piece of the 3 piece airlock? I doubt much got in, especially during primary where Co2 was pushing out of the airlock, pushing baddies away.

Glad the beer turned out well! :D

That is not open fermentation... that is a missing middle piece...

Good job on the good beer though!
