If I'm steeping grains to be used in an extract recipe, and have for example, two different types of grains, can I/should I steep them both at the same time in the same pot? Furthermore, could I mix the two in the same grain bag? I'm not sure whether I need to steep them separately or anything. Thanks for the help brewmasters.

FYI, when mashing or even steeping grains, you do all of them at the same time, in the same vessel (unless your mashing needs exceeds the mash tun volume). Would you cook each ingredient of a cake, or bread, by itself?

I recommend reading up on the steps you'll be taking for brewing before you start. There are plenty of books, and sites, dedicated to this. If nothing else, read this site from start to finish... How to Brew...
