flanged outlets versus box outlets

I am in the process of selecting the outlets for my control panel. I am between using the box type and the flanged type. Are there any significant advantages to using the latter ?
 
Not really sure what you are referring to - Outlet? or - Inlet?
If it is inlet, I'm really hard pressed to find them in the "box" type.

BTW, either one will work very well. It's just a matter of the appearance when finished and what you want to achieve.
 
I am referring to a female receptacle. While I do agree that the flanged outlet is probably a much more aestheticly pleasing and is probably stronger solution, it cost nearly triple. What I really wanted to know is whether or not people have been using them without issues. if they work fine then I'm going to go with the box type since it will save me about $60 .
 
Standard receptacles were good enough for me for the 120v stuff:
