Morning Dew IPA

Hello HBT, I haven't ever posted pics of my brewery before so I took a few shots during todays session. I hope everyone gets as much of kick out of looking at these as I do viewing all yours!

Started off by gathering the grain bill together. 12lbs in all. I store the Base Malt in Homer Buckets from Home Depot. My specialty grains I keep in a seperate case. This recipe calls for Marris Otter and Crystal 20.
I was out of 20 and so was the LHBS so I mixed equal parts of Crystal 40 and 1-5L Cara Pills. It works in a pinch. (Not for competition)

I use a Corona Mill and I've read tons of debates on these boards, sans all that, I love mine... it works great.

I store all the grain in cool dark closet where I keep other supplies and equipment.

I Mill my own to guarantee the perfect grist... or because I love it.

My MLT is the cylindrical cooler mod. I reuse my mash tun preheat water as a sanitizing bucket for the day. Go green! More
like go go gadget common sense.

Ah Doughing in... may possibly be my favorite moment in the brewing process. Tough to say though.

Upon hitting my target I had an hour to clean the mill room and keg the IPA that was ready to go. My buddy Mike was over helping out so he got to finish the last pint of the porter from this keg. I cleaned it and replenished it's
wholesome goodness with a new flavor.

Sparging with a hombrew. My Chaina Cat Sunflower, Brown Ale spiced with Chai.

Not a bad conversion.

This is the Chai, flash must have done something, it's actually not at all that dark. It's a bit darker than iced tea.

Today's selections. I pitched onto the yeast cake from the IPA I just kegged during the mash, so no yeast packet.

My buddy Mike aerating and moving trub. Note the hat people, I'm trying.

Sweetness. I do love me some homebrewing porn.

One hint...beers do not like flashes when being photographed.

Just grab some back light and let the natural beauty shine through.

Looks like a good brew day! Wait, is there such a thing as a *bad* brew day?

BM's right about photographing beer. Using a flash always makes mine turn out much darker than they actually are.
