I just started brewing today and started with the Brewer's Best American Amber kit. After completing all boiling and starting the fermentation process, I realized I forgot to steep the Crushed Crystal Malt. In fact, it was not used at all.

Is this ok? What will be the result?

You'll still have beer.

It'll be lighter in color than the recipe intended, and without whatever flavor the crystal would have contributed, but it'll still be beer and you'll probably still like it.

Some amber ale recipes don't use grains at all so this will be one of those.
It will be tasty, but not what the recipe intended.

Your first beer and you've already created your own recipe!! Congrats!! Who knows, may be the best beer you've ever had. No worries.... RDWHAHB!!

Steep the grain in a quart or two of water. Boil 10 minutes and add to the fermenter.

Or just leave it out.

As long as you're not brewing all grain you'll be fine. Forgetting the grain during an AG batch would result in a pretty watery beer...
