Having to spend a weekend in St. Louis for work so I figured I'd take the opportunity to hop around and visit some of the pubs there. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not to familiar with St. Louis. If there's any HBT'ers from that area that would want to get together for a few beers drop me a line.

Is St. Louis that void of good places to drink beer? I did hear about the Schlafly Taproom, but there's got to be more. There's got to be more that Bud Light in that city...

Trail Head BrewPub in St. Charles. Not bad beer, great food and atmosphere. Take I-70 west out of St. Louis. Look for the Ameristar Casino on the right across the MO river. Exit there. Look for Historic district just down the road past McDonald's on the right. Trail Head is at the end of the road. You know you've gone too far when your in the Missouri River.

Like I said, great food and the beer doesn't suck.

You have to try Schlafly's Expedition Reserve APA while you're in town. Mmm, my new favorite West Coast APA....And I moved here from Portland, OR. I can't believe I said that.

Definitely go by Schlafly's they have a brew house and a tap house.

If you have time go to the Morgan Street Brewery. Its in Lacledes Landing by the riverfront. I was much more impressed by Schafly's beers and ambiance than Morgan street.

Oh yeah and when your at a restaurant dont ask for "something local". They will give you Budweiser.

Have a good time

Schafley or Trailhead are good.

There is Alendales in Kirkwood. They are listed on beertown.org

Also there is Iron Barley, not sure if he has started brewing his own beer yet, supposed to.

There is also Morgan Street Brewery in Lacledes Landing in Downtown STL. At night it mascarades as a night club, pretty fun. They also have some new beer with anti-oxidants. Guy made it for some girl here in town, don't remeber the story.

Beertown.org has a listing of just about every MB in the US.

Avoid the AB tour, not worth the time, you don't see jack, unless you like looking at clydesdales and giant stainless steel silos
