frig or upright freezer

I am looking in to kegging and have a upright freezer and an extra full size frig. the only problem is the frig needs a new door seal and a new one will cost me $75.00. now do I buy the new seal or buy a johnson controls A419 temp control for $54.00. what would be my best choice
 
you'd need a new thermostat for the fridge unless you ONLY wanted to keg, and never lager with it.

is the freezer a frostless variety? if not, the shelves contain the coils, which presents some issues.
